How to install Canon IR Series Printer Driver on Windows XP

This video will cover Canon IR Series printer driver on Windows Xp. Please make sure you have downloaded the proper printer driver and know what the ip address is on the machine.

Please follow the step by step instructions.

1. Click on “Start” and select “Control Panel”

2. Select “Printer and Faxes”

3. Select “Add a Printer” from the panel on the left.

4. Click “Next”

5. Select “Local printer attached to this computer” and uncheck “Automatically detect and install my Plug and Play printers” and click “Next”

6. Select “Create a new port” and using the drop down menu select “Standard TCP/IP Port” and click “Next”

7. Click “Next”

8. Printer Name or IP Address: input the IP Address of printer (ex. 192.168.1.xxx) and click “Next”

9. And click “Finish”

10. Click “Have Disk” and click “Browse” and search for the driver that have been downloaded. (If you followed this tutorial from the beginning it should be in your desktop)

11. When you open the driver folder you should only see 1 file. Highlight the file and click “Open” and click “Ok”

12. Search for your copier model from the list and click “Next” (some models share driver.) (Ex. Canon iR5055/iR5065 PCL5e)

13. If you have multiple printer drivers installed on your computer I recommend adding a label after the driver name or otherwise leave the name as it is. And click “Next”

14. Select “No” for test page and click “Next” (Will print test page in Default Setting video)

15. Click “Finish” to complete the installation. (Please wait until the files have been transferred)

Before you print anything out please go onto view “How to change Default Setting on Canon IR Series Printer Driver” and to complete the installation process.
