Looking at Saving Money a Whole New Way

Looking at Saving Money a Whole New Way

Most families can cut way back on their spending. A lot of money flies out the window in the form of convenience purchases such as beverages and lunches. Seriously, why are you paying a buck or more for a bottle of water, and can you really justify almost five bucks for a coffee every day? Maybe if everyone had to live like I have, then they would change their buying tune, and I have not had it that bad. Those times helped us choose better resource options for everything from the food we ate to the electricity that powered our home.

We have been really broke at times to the point of not being able to buy food we wanted. I remember eating the same cheap meal for dinner for almost an entire month. To this day I can forego that meal as I now associate it with tough times. In my youth I would buy coffee on the way to work, get snacks out of the vending machine and hit the convenience store almost every day either going to work or coming home. Now I plan ahead. I make coffee at home, buy snacks in bulk and use coupons and avoid the convenience stores altogether.

We make it a point to look for lower resource rates for things we need to buy from car insurance to electricity. We shop at a major food store that offers the lowest prices in the region, but we will stop at other stores to buy some sale items that are really knocked down in price. It does not take us anymore gas ans the stores are all close together. We are doing a lot more reusing and repurposing too. It is helping us make ends meet and avoid needing to use credit cards to get by. I am glad that Texas is a deregulated state as far as electric plans goes too as that saves us each month by being able to choose an electricity supplier that has the lowest per kilowatt hour rate.
